Late October in the Pacific Northwest is a magical time for botanicals. Fall foliage meets the last of the summer flowers; there are pods , berries and other fabulous bits from the sleepy garden available. Foraging is at its most fun and the possibilities for interesting design are endless. In this class we’ll play with fall color and textures to create dramatic, long lasting arrangements in a tall vase.

Hannah Morgan will demonstrate the mechanics of building large scale arrangements and discuss the sourcing and care of autumn botanicals. After Hannah’s demo students will dive in, choosing from the wide range of flowers and foliages in the studio. With guidance, each student will create a unique piece that reflects their taste and relationship to the materials.

Platters of food and pitchers of N/A drinks will be provided, to keep students nourished as they wrangle botanicals.

Class will be held at the Fortunate Orchard studio in south Seattle, and space is limited to 6 students. Please note: Pre-registration is required; classes are non-refundable but are transferable.
