An introduction to the art of creating generously sized botanical arrangements. Visually impactful and immersive, these pieces are perfectly suited to the blooms of July. Spires of delphinium, globes of allium, stalks of fennel, artichoke and raspberry will all be used alongside ‘tamer’ summer flowers such as dahlias, cosmos and campanula.

Hannah Morgan will demonstrate the mechanics of building large scale arrangements and discuss the sourcing and care of summer botanicals. After Hannah’s demo students will dive in, choosing from the wide range of flowers and foliages in the studio. With guidance, each student will create a unique piece that reflects their taste and relationship to the materials.

Platters of food and pitchers of N/A drinks will be provided, to keep students nourished as they wrangle botanicals.

Class will be held indoors at the Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands, and space is limited to 10 students. Please note: Pre-registration is required; classes are non-refundable but are transferable.
