Summer Meadow Arrangements in a Handmade Vessel; Saturday July 20 2:00 - 4:30pm
An airy slice of summer, meadowscapes are a magical way to bring nature indoors. Soft grasses, delicate stems and wild textures massed in a low vessel create the illusion of a summer meadow on your table top. We will work with a luxe variety of grasses, wild flowers and cultivated blooms, designing in ceramic vessel hand built by ceramic artist Karra Wise. You will leave the workshop with a fantastic botanical piece and a beautiful vessel to design in throughout the seasons.
Hannah Morgan will demonstrate techniques of building a meadow arrangement and responsible sourcing and caretaking of the botanical materials. Students will learn sustainable mechanics and tips & tricks for making an arrangement that appears to grow wild from the work table. High summer flowers and grasses will be available in abundance - feather top grasses, larkspur, astilbe, cosmos, rudibeckia and other frothy beauties. We will be designing in white ceramic rectangular vessels made by Karra, approximately 12 in x 4 in.
Generous snacks and N/A drinks will be on offer, to nourish you as you create.
Class will be held in the Fortunate Orchard studio near Seward Park, and space is limited to 6 students. Studio address and directions will be sent after registration is complete. Please note: Classes are non-refundable but are transferable.
